The Lazarus Band and special guests present a collection of modern jazzy takes on traditional hymns and spiritual music for all seasons. Featuring Tonia Hughes Kendrick, Scott Agster and special guests from Minnesota Orchestra, University of Minnesota, GTCYS and the St Philip the Deacon community.

American Nomad with Encore Wind Ensemble
Celebrate 30 years of Encore Winds Ensemble and hear the premiere of Jack Stamp’s concert band arrangement of Steve Heitzeg’s celebrated American Nomad trumpet concerto.
Also on the program are more premieres by Jack Stamp and Dean Sorenson.

Havana String Quartet Hosted by Charles Lazarus
The acclaimed Havana Quartet brings Caribbean warmth and Latin American rhythm to the stage, with host Charles Lazarus guiding a program of contemporary Cuban composers Aldo López-Gavilán and Paquito D'Rivera, followed by a live interview and audience Q&A.

Lazarus Brass- A Tribute to Ellington
The Lazarus Brass is going back to their roots at Wayzata Community Church where they got their start with Charles Lazarus and Merry and Bright.
In celebration of the 100 year Anniversary of Duke Ellington’s legendary partnership with the Cotton Club in New York, they will be joined by the WCC Chamber Choir under the direction of Brian Schmidt. The program will feature the premiere of Dean Sorenson’s arrangement of Duke Ellington’s Sacred concert, selections from Ellington’s Peer Gynt Suite, Caravan and other big band hits.
